Video Game Review: Wario Land Shake It!

Welcome to the first of many Video Game Reviews! Each month I will be posting new video game reviews that are made by a fellow gamer (because I have a very limited supply of games). Hopefully these reviews will help you understand more about the game and whether you should buy it or not.

Without futher ado, I present the first Video Game Review!!

Hey this is the first segment of my video game review section. Each month I’m planning on reviewing 1 DS, and 1 Wii game. The rating system will be out of a max ten points 10 being the highest.

WII Game Review

Wario Land Shake It!

Well it’s that time of the year again summers over, and the games start pouting on for the Christmas season. Even though E3 sucked and showed us that most of Nintendo’s major mascots will be just as much on vacation as we will one lone underdog is coming out to try and show us a good time.
Veterans should feel right at home in the latest entry of Wario’s puzzle first, action second platforming adventure. This game is sure to bring back sweet memories of running through extremely well designed levels with your pot bellied villain. This isn’t to say that there aren’t any new features, the motion controls provide Wario with a variety of new moves such as pounding the ground, or shaking enemies for their change.
One of the few complaints I had about this game, is that it is not very fast paced. You’ll find yourself often testing your brain more then your reflexes, and only the final few levels will provide a challenge for veteran players. Those who don’t find the main game to be much of the challenge, will probably spend most of there time with the challenge missions. Bonus levels. that provide you with certain restrictions, in an attempt to make your life hell.
This game looks astounding. The 2D animations are a breath of fresh air in the age of graphics, over gaming, and the bosses are enjoyable to battle (even if the later ones show no mercy.) The game’s major faults are the truly horrible music that gets stuck in your head more like a bad commercial jingle then a song and a shop that does nothing of use. But even these can not stop me from picking up the controller again and again until I master a truly great game.

Final Score 8/10

In recognition of this blog’s first video game review, todays video will be from the game being reviewed.

Wario Land Shake It!

So little time, so little posts…

So many of you may have noticed how dismal my blog is. I haven’t been able to update it much except for the new look. Aside from that I haven’t posted any article yet.

I apologize for this. It is just that on top of school work, I also have “other” issues in my life right now that are not allowing me to update this blog as much as I would have wanted to.

Once again, I apologize for this. :(

Ok, this site has not been updated in a while, so I’ll post a new video for today.

It’s a video made by History of Film students. It’s freaking hilarious!

Note: New Site

As I looked around my blog today, I saw that it wasn’t what i really wanted to be. Instead it became a place of posting random crap. There were posts about Avatar: The Last Airbender and birthday postings. I intended for this site to be technology based, so I have changed the design of the site and now i will be only posting about tech related stuff. (Occasionally I might write something random)

Daily Ramblings: Wii 2

Well with the announcement of the successor to the Wii. I have come up with five ideas that could become the Wii 2 (or U whatever Nintendo will call it).

1)Enhanced Wii

Ok so this isn’t the Wii 2, more like the Wii 1.5. It will come with all (or most) of the features that are currently available on both the PS3 (sans the high price) and Xbox 360 (sans the Red Ring of Death). Some of the features include 1080p support (hdmi and component), upto 7.1 surround sound (coaxial and s/pdif) and maybe the ability to play DVDs (or Blu-ray). It will also come with a hard drive of at least 60 GB. The Friend Code system will be thrown out and a new online play system will be incorporate that will use unique usernames. Also with more power, hopefully more game developers will adopt the Wii 1.5 (Resident Evil 5 anyone?).

2. The Customizable Controller

Instead of another new amazing controller scheme, Nintendo will play on the old and true to self handheld control. With the analog sticks, c-stick, a and b button, and whatelse there is. It will follow the idea of this keyboard. Instead of having set keys, all the buttons (and analog sticks) will be removable! The controller will be any standard shape (Gamecube?), but instead of having fixed keys, every button can be moved. This provides a more comfortable and customizing gameplay for the gamer. Also, game developers could worry less about controller configuration, because the players will be able to set the control scheme to anyway they want! This allows the developer to worry more about the game play and less on the controller scheme.

3. DS meets Wii; Makes DiiS

The next possible system is the DiiS. Its like if the DS and the Wii were to have a child, it would be the DiiS. Going for power, but also portabllity, the DiiS would be both your home console and portable console! Every DiiS will come with a docking station that connects to the TV, controllers, etc… When you want to play on your TV, just insert the DiiS into the docking station (which will double as a recharging station) and voila! You now have a home console! Does size matter? With advancing technology, by the time the DiiS is concocted, it will be able to have the power of the current Wii (and more) inside a console more or less the size of the current DS lite!

4. The DiiJay Mixer

Have that Super Smash Bros. Annihilation game you’ve gotten tired of and that Super Mario Twillight Zone game that you just beat? Well put it into the DiiJay Mixer! With this amazing new console from Nintendo, you will be able to mix games together and create new games. The possibilities are endless! Hate fighting in side-scroller? Pop into the DiiJay Mixer two disk tray both SSBA and SMTZ and now you’re fighting around in Peache’s Castle! Watch as the castle burns down in destruction as you fight it out in a 3D environment! Using advance algorithms (I’m BSing more then I should be now), the DiiJay Mixer will be able to mesh any two games together and spit out a game that has smooth gameplay. Each time you mix it, a new game will appear! Gamecube and Wii games will also be compatable. Wonder what would happen if FLUDD were to work in space? Why not try it! Insert SMS and SMG and watch as Mario spits water into the sky.

5. Nintendo On

Need I say more?
